$5000 for the abandonen children

Hey guys, John Chow starts a new contest to give away $6000 in cash. But, $5000 would go to the charity of your choice and the other $1000 can be spent as you wish. As some of you know, I’m from Romania, a place where a lot of children are abandoned by their natural parents and in this period they need some love, they need somebody to make them gifts, to show them how these winter holidays should be felt. If i win, i would give the $5000 to the abandoned children from my city, (find out more about this situation at this link), to those who won’t receive anything from Santa.

There is a campaign to raise funds for this unfortunate children, called ” You are Santa!” in which people donate food, shoes, toys or even money. I would be very happy to give them the whole sum, $6000 to them because they really need them.

How can i throw a party or buy something with those $1000 when i know someone else needs them more than i do?

The contest is being sponsored by XR.com which is a tiny url service that provides you one of the most simple solutions to shorten your long URLs. It’s easy to use, and it has a design that even my grandma would get used to very fast. Just go there, make an account and start using it! I recommend this service.

Online journalist ? Now you can win a Pulitzer award too

The Pulitzer Prize, the prestigious award for excellence in print journalism, is being expanded to include online-only publications. If you ask me, that is wonderful because people are starting to understand that online journalists worth more than just views for their blogs/sites/articles. They are journalists too, not fool people without a social life.

This isn’t a new thing, because the award committee has accepted submissions from stories appearing on the websites of newspapers, such as The New York Times, but the new guidelines would seemingly open up the prize to online-only outlets. Excellent! Read the rest of this entry »
