Minesweeper one of the most succesful games ever

minesweeper
So what game would you consider to be the most played ever? Solitaire? Everquest or Quake? Well, guess again. The oldest (and most frequently installed) game ever is Minesweeper.

This game has been around since Windows 3.1, requires less concentration then solitaire, is small enought to hide when the boss shows up, and was wasting time long before the internet came out. These are a few reasons why, Minesweeper is the most successful game ever.

$5000 for the abandonen children

Hey guys, John Chow starts a new contest to give away $6000 in cash. But, $5000 would go to the charity of your choice and the other $1000 can be spent as you wish. As some of you know, I’m from Romania, a place where a lot of children are abandoned by their natural parents and in this period they need some love, they need somebody to make them gifts, to show them how these winter holidays should be felt. If i win, i would give the $5000 to the abandoned children from my city, (find out more about this situation at this link), to those who won’t receive anything from Santa.

There is a campaign to raise funds for this unfortunate children, called ” You are Santa!” in which people donate food, shoes, toys or even money. I would be very happy to give them the whole sum, $6000 to them because they really need them.

How can i throw a party or buy something with those $1000 when i know someone else needs them more than i do?

The contest is being sponsored by XR.com which is a tiny url service that provides you one of the most simple solutions to shorten your long URLs. It’s easy to use, and it has a design that even my grandma would get used to very fast. Just go there, make an account and start using it! I recommend this service.

Over 1 million RSS subscribers for TechCrunch

According to Michael Arrington, one of TechCrunch’s editors, their site reached over 1 million average daily readers to their RSS feed. Sounds good, huh? They achieved this awesome milestone in 39 months (a little over three years).

Like most blogs, we continue to provide all of our content in full in the feed even though it means less visitors to the site and less page views. If someone takes the time to add us to their reader, I consider them to be among our most loyal readers even if they never actually visit our site.
